The Business Club is once a week – Currently, it is being held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00. 商务俱乐部—现在为一周一次，在每周三晚上的7点到9点。

This is quite different than the English Corners. The Business Club does not have lessons or activities focused on language itself – grammar or pronunciation. The activities and topics here are focused on business English and business skills. The Business Club is hosted by Business English students – with a teacher assisting them.商务俱乐部跟英语角是完全不同的。商务俱乐部的课程或者活动不再强调语言本身（语法、发音），而注重商务环境下英文沟通和商务实用能力。主持人通常是参加商务俱乐部的学生，而老师在这里主要是指导和协助主持人。

The student host will choose the topic and create an agenda with the meetings activities. The teacher will then create a worksheet with new vocabulary based on these activities, and put it up in the business club group where students can download the worksheet before the Business Club, and be well prepared to talk about the topic.学生主持人需要先选择一个会议主题并设计好活动安排表。指导老师将根据活动准备好相应的资料和词汇表，然后上传到加华网站上的“商务俱乐部组”；学生可以访问并下载这些资料，做好参与活动的充分准备。


Typically, an agenda will look like this:

7:00 – 7:15 – introducing the topic and lecture from the host 主持人介绍活动主题和主要内容
7:15 – 7:45 – Topic based discussion questions 与主题相关的问题讨论
7:45 – 8:00 – further discussion on one aspect of the topic 深入主题某个方面的讨论
8:00 – 8:05 – break-time 中场休息
8:05 – 8:50 – Group activities based on the topic 分组讨论
8:50 – 9:00 – Choose next week’s host, and next week’s topic 选举下周主持人，以及下次活动主题

Attending the Business Club is a great way to practice the business English you have learned in class. Hosting the Business Club is a great way to practice your presentation skills, and a great way to have your confidence grow by speaking in front of many others. 参与商务俱乐部是练习你在课堂上学到的英文的非常好的途径。主持商务俱乐部更是能很好地锻炼你的演示（会议主持）能力，以及培养在公众面前演说的自信。
 

Our objectives of the business club are商务俱乐部的主要目标:

1 – To provide a platform where our students can share their business knowledge, and learn from each other.提供一个学生可以分享商务经验的平台，让大家可以互相学习
2 – To give our students more opportunity to use the materials they have learned in their class.给到学生更多机会去演练在课堂上学到的内容
3 – To help build our students confidence in speaking English, and to help build the confidence they need in the world of business. 帮助学生提高讲英文的自信，以及在国际商务活动中自信地表达。

We use Andrew Carnegie as our model as he accomplished all he did in life not due to any special skills, education, family background or inherited wealth.
