I see a lot of students using You Dao dictionary. This dictionary is inaccurate. Some of the words are spelt wrong and some of the definitions are wrong too. I suggest students us another dictionary. Pleco and Hanping are good for Mandarin students by they are also useful for English students.

When I first started studying Chinese I would remember words by relating them to English words and I sometimes do the opposite when I teach English.
Who can guess what these words are in English (remember it is the sound of the word that is important not the literal translation):
