Thanks to Alex, I watched two impressive English programms. He recommended one called "Hoarder", after seeing it, I found the other one called "American Picker".

Hoarders are people who have mental disorders. They hoard everyting which is useful or useless in their places. There are so much stuff that there is no room for sitting, sleeping, cooking and so on. Stuff not only occupy their houses, but also their lives. Someone's situation is so serious that the goverment has to make laws to regulate the problem, as the hoarder's place is a potencial threat to public health.

why do people get this mental disorder? I was keeping on asking myself this question as the programm just shows people come to help them get rid of those messy things.

I was surpriesed to see that the goverment made laws regarding to the problem, took workable actions to solve it. That is society of humanity and with good welfare.

Unlike hoarders keeping things which others think as junk, Pickers pick things others may think as junk. Those cool guys drive a big car around everywhere and dig unusual items from stuff jungles. They are professionals of certain fields so that they are able to find the true value of the items which the owners undervalue. It is only a hobby for them, it is also a profitable business.

Are there any pickers in China? My answer is NO. How do you think about it?

I have a friend in Canada and his parents are hoarders. Their house is pretty gross. Just stuff and stuff and stuff. If they do not see the need in throwing something out, they never will. I am the opposite, I like to have as less stuff as possible.

Sentimental things? What do you mean, Sam? They have unforgettable memories on those stuff?

At first I also wonder the same question: why do people get this mental disorder?

I search through internet and find some clue: "hoarding is due to filling a void, such as the loss of a loved one. Mistakenly, they think that holding onto sentimental things will bring comfort."
