Do you like movies free for taking on the internet?

On one occasion, I asked my boss, is it a original operating system in his computer? He said:" Of course not, who going to use a original one in China, you just waste your money!". Yes, you can get free musics, free movies, free software program, free video tutorials and so on on the internet in China. All my programs in my computer are download from internet, I even no need to buy a copy CD.

But maybe we will can not get so much free resources from internet soon. VeryCD, base on educkey, one of the most popular P2P share tool on the the internet was shut down, Just like the Napster, the first peer-to-peer  network. you will can not download free movies and free musics from VeryCD anymore. It said that if you spead a movie or music you don't have copyright for profit, you will against the law.

I don't know whether the goverment can complete shut down all these kinds of network, for me, I don't like it will happen, otherwise, how can I get these free resources. You know what, a original operating system needs more 200RMB, adding the other  eles programs, it will be very big spending for me. But for the healthy development of the film industry and music industry, it is necessary…

I disagree with you Rob. I think music, movies, and lots of other things should be legally online for free. In the digital age, information will flow naturally for free as a river flows naturally downstream, regardless of what laws or infrastructure (or Australasian cities) is in place. These writers and artists just need to change with the times and adjust to the new business environment. Albums will not make money for musicians anymore, but tours do. If I like the free music I download, I will go see the live show when they come to my city. They can even make money from sponsorships once they start to receive their fame.

As for software programing is the same. Many great programmers got their start by releasing free programs online. If they can get a useful and intellectually productive program out, then they get hired at companies like Google or Microsoft to develop more. I think instead of making laws to protect IP, governments should just better adjust to the business environment of the 21st century.

It isn't just neccessary for the healthy development of the music and film industries, but it is also important for the men and woman who write the programs you enjoy. They spend a lot of time making sure that those programs work efficiently in hopes that they can make money off of a quality product and support their families. On the other hand, it is wonderful that people have the ability to so freely share what they have made.
